Birthday, birthday, birthday! Oh, and some pretty big news!

For Kaelynn's birthday evening, we went back to Arni's!  While there the table next to us started singing "Happy Birthday" to this lady, celebrating (we think) her 88th.  Kaelynn got really excited and when prompted she ran over to tell her "Happy Birthday!!"  It was so cute.  She told that it was her birthday too, so they shared some of their birthday cake and I had to get this picture.  Two beautiful ladies!

Nana reading Morganne and Kaelynn's "personalized" princess books!

Then it was Party time!  Just inviting our closest friends and the Grant cousins, the party group was not small!  We had about 30 people here for the celebration. We are so blessed to have the bigger house to have fun in.  Despite all of the stress of planning and prep (that I put on myself) we had a really good time.  We think the kids did too!

Two princess' Niki and Gracie

The first activity was making bracelets with paper beads from Haiti.  Surprisingly, the kids really enjoyed it and even the little ones worked very hard at strining the beads.  The adults had the tough time of tying them!  Even more neat for the activity was that most of the kids, when done with their bracelets, immediately gave it to someone else!  Curtis made his for Morganne, Morganne gave her's to Nicci, and Kaelynn gave hers to me!  So special!

Then we headed to the garage for the pinata!!!  This was so much fun!  (We even got the exclamation from Cooper "This is the best birthday party ever!")  The kids and adults had a blast.

After two rounds of no breaking by the kiddos,  Gene gave it a whirl.  Still no fracture!  So, Justin took over and with Kaelynn and Morganne's help, beat the thing open and then candy for everyone!

Next, we had "decorate your own cupcakes".  I wasn't feeling an inspiration for a special cake this year, so I thought I would leave it up to the kids and parents.  It was a hit.  The cupcakes may not have tasted the greatest (new recipe) but it was still fun. ;c)

 It's singing time!

A huge hit, Nana made the girls new bath robes!  The wore them the rest of the night!

Kaelynn then decided to go back and make another cupcake.  This one we gave to Daddy to eat.  (It had about an inch worth of sprinkles on top and two layers of icing!!!)

Daddy's sporting attempt at eating it....

Oh, Daddy, you dropped a few!

Cooper and Gracie knew Grandma laps when they saw them.  A Grandma/Nana is always a Grandma/Nana!

And for the big news....  Turn up your volume and listen closely!  (Sorry, it's so quiet!)

And, just in case you didn't catch it.....

Morganne's birthday celebration and snow fun!

As per her request, we went to Arni's for Morganne's 5th birthday dinner.  Nana and Grandad joined us and helped make the night a lot of fun.  I can't believe she is 5 years old!!!

Her "big" birthday present this year was a brand new bicycle.  She absolutely LOVED it.  We are so thankful for a bigger house so she could take it for her first spin!

Finally we had the perfect snow fall to make a snowman.  We've been waiting 2 years!  The girls had a blast and Mom and Dad joined in too.  Family fun at it's best!

Kaelynn helped a lot- when she wasn't trying to eat the snow she was gathering!

I was the target of most of the snowballs!

This one cracks me up...  She threw as hard as she could, but the snowball actually ended up inside her jacket hood, which she then couldn't find and needed Daddy's help to retrieve it.  So cute!

 Love this picture.
