Grant Girls' birthday bash!!!

On Saturday we officially celebrated the girls' birthdays with a very fun party at my parent's church.  Though many friends couldn't make it, we had so many of our closest friends there and we all had a great time.  The theme was Veggie Tales as this is most definitely Morganne's favorite thing to watch currently (and fortunately Justin and I still haven't gotten sick of them).  We had Bob and Larry cake, a Veggie Tale character picture mural, Veggie Tale fruit snacks, and played "tape" the nose on Bob!  The girls got so many wonderful new toys and clothes and we are so blessed to have so many friends who love and care for us!  There were 14 kids there under the age of 7 (most under 4), and approximately 20 adults.  It was a very fun time!  Here are some pictures from the afternoon:

Morganne and Dylan exploring one of Morganne's new toys
 Happy birthday wishes from Great-Grandpa
Bob and Larry and the Peas!

Explaining the game, "tape" the nose on Bob!
Since we forgot a blindfold, we improvised and used a gift bag instead.  The kids did great with it!  Here is Morganne's turn!

I think Dylan got the closest- without looking! :cP

 Morganne and Annabel
 Kaelynn and Asher
Both girls got shy when the singing started but they thoroughly enjoyed eating the cake once the candles were blown out.

Happy birthday hugs from best buddy Curtis
Our attempt at getting a picture of all of the kids.  You can see one kid already escaping, one is missing, 2 are crying, and one "big" kid pretending to be Junior Asparagus.  It was a pretty funny, short lasting moment.

Catching the last few minutes of the Butler game via iPhone.  It was hilarious when with a few seconds left in a nail biter of an ending, the iPhone died!  My Dad then had to call a friend and find out what happened.  Classic....

Morganne was SO excited all afternoon.  I definitely think she enjoyed her party.

And possibly one of the funniest pictures from the day.  Fred, Justin, Derek, and my Dad, Ken.  Too funny....
And our theme of the party:  God made you special and He loves you very much!!!
We are so blessed!

Growing and growing, or maybe not

Morganne and Kaelynn had their 3 year and 1 year wellness visits this week.  Both were deemed very healthy and advanced for their age socially.  Morganne is now at 37.5lbs. and 40.5 inches tall.  She is in the 98% for height and 93% for weight.  I've noticed lately how much taller she is compared to other kids her age.  She is most definitely going to be taller than me, hopefully not before she's 12!
Kaelynn weighed in at 18.9lbs and 29.25inches tall.  She is in the 51% for height and only 10% for weight.  How is it we have polar opposite daughters?  In one visit to the doctor we got the "watch what she eats" speech and also the "you need to feed her more" speech.  I only wonder if this will be similar with their personalities too.  It seems that way as Kaelynn has gotten older.  Kaelynn has developed fine but has definitely not put on the weight she probably should have these last few months.  She really hasn't had an appetite while being sick every other week since December.  Thanking God, she seems to finally be healthy these past couple weeks and finally her appetite has improved, she is sleeping better, and even friends have noticed that she seems happier and is crying less.  We are all happier for the new found good health!  Kaelynn is now trying to stand and let go on her own, but still no cruising around yet.  Morganne has greatly improved in her coordination in the last few months and is starting to learn what words sound like and match them with the letters they start with.  They are both such huge blessings and so much fun.
Here are a couple pictures from this week, outside enjoying the beautiful 70 degree weather!!!  Too bad it's back to being cold and miserable again!

One BIG thing that happened this week was that Justin got the new swingset torn down from the neighbors and moved into our backyard!!!!  I will admit I didn't ask too many questions and I'm glad I wasn't home as he did most of the tearing down and setting up all by himself.  I did however, send my Dad over this afternoon to make sure that my husband wasn't dead in the backyard from the swingset falling on him!  I was impressed....   It was a surprise for Morganne and she LOVED it!!!  Too bad it's now too cold to play outside.  I will post pictures of it soon.

Happy 1st Birthday Kaelynn!

One year ago our love grew deeper when we first met our newest little girl.  I can't believe it's been a year already.  She has blessed our family tremendously and I can't imagine life without my two beautiful girls.  Kaelynn is shy but happy and very ornery.  She is a Mommy's girl through and through but loves to laugh and giggle when Daddy is around.  We love her so much.  Happy Birthday "Bright Eyes"!

We celebrated tonight by getting Dairy Queen and Kaelynn enjoyed her first ice cream cone.  She proceeded to finish the entire thing!!!!  And yes, Mommy got ice cream on her too during the enjoyment.
Loving her first ice cream cone experience!
