catching up

Sorry everyone, this pregnancy is affecting me a bit different than with Morganne. I'm thoroughly exhausted and nauseous, without vomiting luckily, all the time. So, any down time I've been on the couch asleep rather than typing here. Hopefully once out of the first trimester things will improve. My doctor's appt. is Aug. 14th.
As an adendum to the last post, I wanted to share a blessing and show you how God is working. Upon telling our friends about the misfortune of the weedeater and blower being stolen out of the back of Justin's truck, Justin was given a weedeater to use for the rest of the season from a friend, and then this morning at church another friend said that they were going to give him their blower. It's still in the box and just this week she was trying to decide what to do with it to get it out of her garage. So, all is working out fine. It's still frustrating to Justin, just because it was so easily prevented, but things happen and this way we are being blessed by our friends.
Another big happening lately is that we lost yet another couple close friends to Knoxville, TN. Jason, Lisa, and Shannon moved last week to pursue their further education at JBC. Like with Wes and Melanie, we will miss them so much, but we wish them the best. And we promise to come visit!!! We are thankful for technology and blogs to help us keep updated on their lives. Hint hint Lisa and Melanie!!! :c)
Anyhow, I am headed back to the couch. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Amazing friends

I just want to say, for everyone to hear, that we have the most amazing friends, and God has blessed us so much. Times are tough. Even without the economy crap the 20's and beginning new families are a right of passage that all must go through. Dave Ramsey says in his "Financial Peace University" that many 20'something year olds think that when they move out on their own they should be able to live the life their parents live. But this is warped thinking, because our parents are twice our age, and most of them had to go through the right of passage too, to get where they are now. So, we sit back, keep the faith, and trudge along. Until one day, with God's blessing, we too can live a little more comfortable. Satan decides to knock us while we're down to see what rise he can get out of us, and to see if our faith will slide. For me, it's just the opposite Satan, my faith gets stronger when I don't know how we are going to make things happen. I think that's why God allows these things too happen, and then he blesses us. Like the way we were blessed last weekend when our dear friends came over unannounced and gave us a check. She sat nearly crying, and I was nearly crying too, saying how we had been on her heart for a while now and that they wanted to help us in some way. Rest assured we are doing just fine, we've just run into a few bumps in the road (but thanks to Dave Ramsey, we are weathering it better than expected), but this was our friend's way of reaching out and blessing us. We love you so much (you know who you are!)!!! As prideful people, it's not easy taking a gift like this. We would rather be the ones giving than receiving. We have received things before from our friends too, like when we had Morganne and I ended up in the hospital for 3 days with a kidney infection and the medical bills piled up. We had friends bring groceries, dinners, plant flowers in our garden, and clean our house. I truly pity the people that go through life without such friends. God is so good.

Yesterday we took another blow. While on a mowing job, Justin's weedeater and leaf blower were stolen out of the bed of his truck. About $600 worth of equipment. It was not a good day. But alas, we've already had a friend offer to let Justin borrow his weedeater to maintain the few yards he does have and both my dad and Justin rent them from the rental departments at work. We may not make as much money off each yard, but at least there are still options. God will provide.

On a different note, here is a picture of Morganne, excited about her announcement at church last week. She's going to be a big sister!!!
